# Can I run a larger wheel diameter on my ATV or UTV?
## You can usually run a slightly larger wheel diameter on your ATV or UTV, but it must be paired with the correct tire height to maintain proper clearances and performance.
Yes -- in most cases you can upgrade to a slightly larger wheel diameter on your ATV or UTV, provided you also choose the right tire to maintain an appropriate overall tire height. The most important consideration is that the total rolling diameter (wheel + tire) does not exceed your machine's clearances or significantly alter its handling.
Common reasons to go slightly larger in wheel diameter on a UTV include better brake caliper clearance and the ability to run tires with a lower profile for improved handling on hard-packed terrain. Just make sure the specific wheel and tire combination you choose is verified to fit your machine's bolt pattern, offset, and brake caliper clearance.
